A salon with a reputation and no digital presence.
Haus of Heir has had a loyal following in Davenport, Iowa since 2013. Online, it barely existed. We built a brand system around the logo clients already knew, rebuilt the website, and gave the salon and every stylist templates to post as one brand.

Haus of Heir · after the relaunch
The problem · 2023
Ten years of reputation. Almost none of it online.
Clients found Haus of Heir by word of mouth. People searching for a Davenport salon, or scrolling past one, mostly didn't. And as the salon grew, every stylist was building a look of their own online, which risked blurring the thing that made the salon worth finding.
What we did
Three moves, one identity.
01 / 03 · Brand · Fall 2023
A brand system, not a new logo.
The salon had a strong look in person and nothing that carried it anywhere else. We started with six keywords every photo and post has to hit, then built the type, color and photography rules that make Haus of Heir recognizable on a phone screen.
- Six brand keywords: disruptive, modern, authentic, inclusive, intentional, culture
- Libre Caslon Display headers with Urbanist body type
- Clean, high-flash studio photography with bold color
- Brand guidelines the whole team works from
02 / 03 · Web · 2023 to 2025
A website that feels like walking in.
The old site didn't look like the salon clients loved. The new one leads with the space and the stylists, helps people find the right stylist, and lays out every service with pricing by stylist tier.
- Built on Squarespace, written for Davenport salon searches
- A “Find your perfect HAUSmate” path to the right stylist
- A services menu with pricing by stylist tier
- A custom-coded services dropdown for mobile
03 / 03 · Social · Fall 2023
One brand, every stylist's feed.
Haus of Heir stylists build their own followings, and the salon wanted to keep that. We designed a template library the salon and each stylist post from, so every feed reads as Haus of Heir and still looks like the stylist behind it.
- 75 designs for posts, stories and Reel covers
- An open palette stylists choose from
- One bold color with black or white, so nothing gets loud
- Planned social schedules for the salon account
What we found
The brand was already on the walls.
The salon is full of art: murals, portraits, neon, blue velvet. Instead of inventing a palette, we pulled twelve colors from the space and named each one for an artist. Stylists pick one bold color, pair it with black or white, and they're on brand.

From the Haus of Heir brand guidelines, 2023.
The logo already worked.
Clients knew the mark, and it already looked like the salon. Replacing it would have spent that recognition for nothing. We built a suite around it instead: a wordmark for receipts and navigation, a seal for signage, a logomark for icons and a vertical lockup for tight spaces.

The salon
Where the brand came from.
Klein blue velvet, Antoinette pink, a neon script and a lot of gold. Every color in the palette is somewhere in this building.

What came next
The guidelines still run the salon's look, and the website has grown with the salon, from new stylists to a reworked services menu.
